Special Numbers One of the specallty numbers of the evening will be the num- ber, "Introduction and Samba for Saxophone and Band", which was written especially for Rascher by Maurice Whitney, one of the leading writers of band music today. Another feature of the program wtU be the presentation of the folk song, "Londonderry Air, which has been especially arranged ar-ranged by the Cedar band director, dir-ector, Eugene Hclland. Rascher will also appear in several solo numbers that will be announced the night of the program. Other numbers on the program by the band will be the "Emblem "Em-blem of Unity March," by J. J. Richards, to open the program. The first concert number wUl be "Italian in Algiers" by Gloac-chlno Gloac-chlno Rossini and Lane Merry-weather, Merry-weather, student director, will direct dir-ect "Voice of the Guns March" by Kenneth J. Alfred. The concert will conclude with the band playing the popular "Stars and Stripes Forever," by John Philip Sousa. Tickets for the concert are on sale at Cowley Drug and from members of the band, Ilelland said. |
