Show CSU Trustees Meet, Elect Warren H. Bulloch Head Swearing in ceremonies for 12 board members Wednesday preceded pre-ceded the first meeting of the new College of Southern Utah Board of Trustees. At a meeting held in the Family Living Center Cen-ter or the CSU campus, the new governing group began decision making for the college, which was granted four-year status by the 1!MJ3 Utah State Legislature. Named in May by the Governor Gover-nor , the new board is composed of Lowell Sherratt, Jr., Warren Bulloch, Dr. Reed Farnsworth, and Kumen Gardner, all of Cedar City; Marion D. Hanks, Lorin Wheelwright, Mrs. Lula Isaacson, and Edmund J. Flynn, all of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Doyle Sampson, Samp-son, St. George; Eugene Overfelt, Gunnison; John T. Verniew, Richfield, Rich-field, and R. J. Potter, Tremon-ton. Tremon-ton. Gayle Miles, Cedar City, is an ex-offieio member of the board in his eapieity of president of the BNS-LAC-CSU Alumni Association, As-sociation, and Clyde Miller, Secretary Sec-retary of State, who by virtue of his state position becomes a member of the Board of Trustees. The administration of the oath of office was administered by Mr. Miller. First action of the newly constituted con-stituted board was the election of board officers, with Warren H. Bulloch, Cedar City, named as chairman of the Board, and Dr. Reed W. Farnsworth, also of Cedar Ce-dar City, was named as vice president. pre-sident. Appointment of secretary and treasurer was deferred for later action. Three members of the board. Kumen S. Gardner, Cedar City; Mrs. Doyle Sampson, St. George and Eugene Overfelt, Gunnison, were named as members of ihe executive committee to serve with" Mr. Bulloch and Dr. Farnsworth. By unanimous action of the newly established board Dr. Roy-den Roy-den C. Braithwaite, Director of College of Southern Utah for the past decade, was named President Presi-dent of the newly established four-year liberal arts college, I with term and other details of his position to bo considered in executive exe-cutive session later in the day. J Considerable discussion was held on (picstions of board procedure pro-cedure and naming of board commit tees, such as Finance, Buildings and Grounds, Academic Acade-mic Atfairs, and action delayed until further study of committee needs and board prix-cduros can be completed.
