Thursday, between the Dairy and Parks has developed into a crucial contest in the race for honors. Dairy and Parks have both scored single wins over the other two members of the league, Southern Utah Power and Utah Construction. -Arden downed Power 9 to 3 Friday evening and completed the week's play Tuesday Tues-day evening with a convincing 12 to 7 win over Utah Construction. Parks downed UC last Thursday Thurs-day evening In three extra innings, in-nings, 5 to 4 and bounced back for an 8 to 4 win over Power Monday night to remain undefeated unde-feated In the second half. See-Saw Battle Thursday nitfht Parks took a 3 to 1 lead over U C after two full Innings of play only to fall behind In the fifth. In the fourth UC pushed over three runs, two scoring on a home run by Jeff Marchant. UC added a fourth in the fifth to take a 4 to 3 lead In the top of the seventh Parks came back with a single run to tie up the score and force the game into extra innings. Neither team scored in the eighth or ninth, but Parks pushed push-ed over a slnfle run in the top of the tenth to take the lead. In the bottom of the tenth with two men and a runner on first Karl Bralthwalte of U C hit Into right field and the third and final out was made when the base runner attempted to score on the ' hit Larry Smith was on the mound for the first nine innigs for Parks. He was relieved in the tenth by Frank Snyder. Smith also homerei in the second with one runner on base. In action Friday Arden concentrated con-centrated eight of their nine hits In the first and third Innings to push over three and four runs, respectively, to score their 9 to 3 win over the Power nine. Pow. er was held scoreless until the fourth when they scored a single run and added two more in the sixth when Raymond Prestwlch homered. Lory Misel was the winning pitcher, allowing six hits. Hot Beginning Parks scored an 8 to 4 win over Power Monday evening with the scoring being concentrated into the first three innings of play. Parks capitalized on five hit three errors and four walks In the first two frames to score aH of their eight runs and Power accumulated ac-cumulated two each In the sec-ond sec-ond and third. The final four frames were played without a score. Frank Snyder was th winning pitcher for Parks and Roger Hlgbee was charged with the loss for Power. Snyder of Parks and Prestwlch of Power both homered on solid drives over the centerfleld fence. Tuesday evening Arden again took the Initiative in the early innings in scoring a 12 to 7 win over UC. At the end of three frames Arden held a nine to three lead and coasted to the final victory. Kenneth Benson homered for UC In the third with one of the longest drives of the season. It came with a man on base to account for two of the seven runs. Action in the league will come to a halt following Friday evening's even-ing's game to allow for a mid-season mid-season vacation.
