Hunting Permits on Sale Aug. 1 for Archers The archery deer season, now set for Aug. 17 through Sept 8, is the first hunt of the year for the most popular and abundant of Utah's big game animals. Recently set by the Board of Big Game Control action, the archery season includes the Labor La-bor Day weekend, as well a three other weekends of hunting. Hunting will be on a state- wide basis with the exception of the Heaston, herd unit no. 11 which is closed to all deer hunting hunt-ing this year. Only deer of either sex will be legal game during the Aug.-Sept. season. Cost of the archery permit will be $3.00 for both resident and nonresident archers. During the archery season only bow and arrow hunting is permitted, per-mitted, with tackle requirements remaining much the same this year as for last. Archery permits will 71 ri -ri'e to holders of 1963 big ga;.ie :it-or :it-or combination licenses on Aug. 1.
