Show Cedar Furniture Store Burglarized Sunday j Cedar Home Furnishings was broken Into early Sunday morning morn-ing and cash and checks in the amount of $837 taken. Of the amount $275 was in cash, it was reported by Antone Hunter, co-owner co-owner of the establishment. Chief of Police Antone Lambert indicated that the burglary oc-cured oc-cured sometime between 3:30 a. m. when the building was checked check-ed by the police department on regular rounds, and 5:55 a. m. when it was rtported by Wanda j Wood, an employee of Hugh's Cafe, that a window had apparently ap-parently been broken out in the rear of the store. Hunter was called to the store and it was discovered that cash from Saturday's receipts which had been placed in the rear of the store, had been taken. The company office had also been rifled, ri-fled, apparently while someone was in the process of looking for the cash. . . . Entrance was gained from the rear of the store by breaking a window of the door. There were also indications that an attempt at-tempt to spring the door by kicking kick-ing it had apparently been made, Investigating officers stated. Investigation of the theft is continuing this week with a number of leads being followed up which were brought out in the initial investigation. |
