Show ft'. h;' I m mmmimim Ti l Hi'' In i JIM WATSON Jim Watson Passes Difficult CPA Exams It was learned this past week that Jim Watson, local resident and a professor In the business department at College of Southern South-ern Utah, had successfully passed pass-ed the uniform Certified Public Accountant examination. Watson was one of two in the State of Utah to pass all parts of the examination ex-amination on the first attempt. Statistics show that less than 2 percent of applicants sitting for the examination pass it on their first attempt The examination Is made up of .four parts, Including a section on i business law, auditing, accounting account-ing theory and accounting practice prac-tice (problems). It is admlnistra-tered admlnistra-tered In the State Capitol In :Salt Lake City twice yearly, and Is a rigorous examination, taking tak-ing two and a half days to com- : plete. . . Watson is a native of Cedar City, Ci-ty, having graduated from Cedar Ce-dar High ScnooJ and CSU. He I then attended the University of Utah and graduated from the U with a bachelor's degree in business busi-ness management and a minor in accounting. He received honors hon-ors and the distinguished military mili-tary graduate award. Mr. Watson received his master's degree from the U of U in 1961. Mr. Watson runs a family-owned sheep ranch in his spare time. He is also a joint owner in an apartment house here in Cedar City. He does accounting work here and In Las Vegas. He is married and has two daughters and a son. |
