Show CEDAR CITY SOCIAL SWING By Nola Kupfer Meeting at the home of Rose Anderson, the Reading Club met and wag entertained by Rhea Wakeling. Mrs. Wakeling read the book 'Then Also I Must Bring." She was Introduced to club members by program chairman chair-man Elda Manning. A delicious luncheon was served following the Interesting review. Officers, Annette Betenson, president; Mildred Smith, vice president, and. Lillian Macfarlane, secretary, secre-tary, were in charge of the lovely love-ly refreshments. Mrs. Kent Ilulet entertained a group of friends to a preview of Christmas as she invited Mrs. Paul FAint to demonstrate Christmas Christ-mas gift wrapping and Mrs. Oscar Os-car Hulet to hand-dip chocolates for the ladies. Taking note of the lnt-mation for future use were Pauline hulet, Marjorle Evans, Dixie Matheson. Carol Ann Webster, Web-ster, Joan Skinner, Donna Green, Rayona Day, Pat Lampman, Carolyn Car-olyn Le Baron, La roe Harris, and Norma Stapley. The visitors will enjoy visiting visit-ing with their sort-ln-law and daughter and small granddaughter granddaugh-ter until Sunday at which time they will return home. On Friday evening Mr. and Mrs. Blue have Invited friends in to meet the visitors and enjoy the evening eve-ning playing bridge. As the En Avante Club mem-Ibers mem-Ibers met at the home of Mrs Richard Stuckl on Wednesday, they completed their studies on Africa. Mrs. G. D. MacDonald reviewed re-viewed the book, "The Lion," written by Joseph Kessel. Mrs. MacDonald later introduced Eugene Eu-gene Hoi man who spoke on the art of Africa and displayed many art pieces carved in that country. coun-try. She returned to her duties at Park n' Shop on Friday. The Friday meeting of the M. B. W. Club was held at the home of Mrs. John Brown. Mrs. Brown greeted her guests during the afternoon as hostess and introduced intro-duced Mrs Elene Jenson as program pro-gram guest. Mrs. Jenson reviewed review-ed the book 'The Sun In Our Hands," by Dympha Crusack. Following the most Interesting review, a delicious luncheon was served by the hostess. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Cardon spent a few days In Salt Lake City this past week. They were accompanied by their sens Tom-my Tom-my oiid Gene. The Ladies of Elks will spon-1 spon-1 sor a Girl Scout group In Cedar City. This organization will in-'elude in-'elude all girls between the ages of seven and 13. Hostess to her bridge club on Thursday evening was Mrs. Evan Dobson. Light refreshments were served after which the game of the evening was enjoyed. High score prizes were won by Mrs Haze Hunter and Mrs. Francis Betenson. Mrs. Glen Yergensen joined the group as a guest for the evening. Las Vegas will be the holiday vacation spot for Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Osborne and children as they spend Thanksgiving with Mr. and Mrs. Richard Murdock and family. They will return home on the week end. |
