Show Second City Budget Reading Made At Council Meeting At the regular meeting of the Cedar City Council held Thursday Thurs-day evening, second reading of, the proposed budget for 19C0 took place and It was accepted with no changes. Remainder of the meeting deau principally with proposeu ordinances. Two ordinances now under study off street parking park-ing and curb and gutter were studied at the meeting. Both, however, were returned to the city attorney for further changes to be made. The council accepted a recommendation recom-mendation regarding the selling of Alcoholic Beverages Ordinance recently adopted allowing the rhanere In license fees to be varied var-ied upon resolution of the council, coun-cil, me proposed change was adopted by the council. Mayor Arnold Anderson announced an-nounced at the meeting that he has been named as a member of the resolutions committee of the Utah Municipal League and will represent that organization at the National Municipal League convention con-vention to be held In Denver. Mayor Anderson was recently named president of "the Utah Municipal League and will take over those duties in January, I960. A report was made to the council coun-cil by Robert Llnford and Carl Lagerburg, on their recent attendance at-tendance at a meeting called In Salt Lake City to discuss the problem of obscene literature on newsstands. Expenses for their attendance was paid by the city and it Is expected ex-pected that they will make recommendations rec-ommendations to the council at a later date, of possible action against this problem. |
