Show Expansion Outlined By Telephone Co. Manager at Lions Club Dean Williams', manager of the Cedar City office of the Mountain States Tel. and Tel. Co., was guest speaker at the weekly meeting of the Lions Club, Monday Mon-day noon. Williams discussed for the Lions members the changes, development, de-velopment, improvements and future plans of the telephone company in this area. The manager explained the work currently being done within with-in the city and at the new building build-ing at 100 West and Center Street to rush the installation of dial telephone equipment. Changeover Change-over is scheduled for November, he explained. He also told the Lions of the important position the Cedar City exchange would play In the over- all system of the Mountain States ' Tel. and Tel. Co. The Cedar City exchange will be the largest In tli? southern Utah area and wii: serve as a toll center for prac tically all calls of this area in-' in-' eluding Page, Ariz., at the site of , the Glen Canyon Dam. Over 100 specialists from tin company and Western Electric ! will be in Cedar City during the summer in preparation for the change over to the dial svstem, Williams stated. |
