Show Redmen Down Milford 26-0 to Retain Region Ten Football Lead The Cedar High Redmen, after a somewhat slow first quarter of , play, exploded for three touchdowns touch-downs in the second period and added a fourth in the final quarter quar-ter to set back the Milford Tigers Tig-ers 26 to 0 in a Region 10 football foot-ball contest The game was played in the College of Southern Utah Bronco stadium Friday evening. It was the second region game for Coach Hal Norton's Redmen and it was the league opened for the Milford Tigers, who drew a first round bye. The Redmen got 42 yards in rushing in the first period of play, but it was not until the second quarter that they hit pay ! dirt. First tally, early in the seo-' ond period was an eight yard keep play with Roger Higbee, at quarterback, carrying for the score. Pass was in the right flat and was hauled in by Lindsay on the nine yard line and ran into the end zone for the score. in the final minutes of play in the second period Larry Anderson, An-derson, in at the halfback slot, culminated an extensive drive with a five yard skirt around left end for a TO. Redmen were held scoreless again in the third quarter and the final tally of the game came in the fourth period of play with Mike Carter taking a handoff into the center of the line and moving 12 yards into the secondary second-ary for a touchdown. Brent Foulger, kicker for the Redmen hit 2 of four attempts to bring the score to 26 to 0. : Quarterbacking duties were split between Roger Higbee and Jeff March ant. Marchant was back in the lineup for the first time on an extended basis after an early season knee injury. Redmen had 36 rushing plays during the game and ground out 235 yards for an average of just 6.5 yards per try. In the air Hig-be Hig-be attempted seven passes and hit for four. Marchant passed only once ?nd it was incomplete. Total passing yardage amounted to 57 or 14 yards averap per pass completion. |
