Show PARAGONAH NEWS NOTES liu Rilma Larjaoroaux A real Thanksgiving treat Is In store for the people of Para-gonah Para-gonah In the form of a Talent Show to be presented In the school auditorium on Thursday evening, at 8 o'clock. The Ward Building Fund Committee Is sponsoring the afair and Mr. and Mrs. J. Lowe Barton are making all the arrangements. From past experiences we know that Lowe and Melva have many talented friends and Thursday's program of dancing, and musical numbers promises to be well worth every- oen's attention. Home town talent, tal-ent, as well as out of town guests, will appear at the entertainment. en-tertainment. Thursday's DUP meeting held at the William Williamson home was well attended despite the bitter cold wind. Mrs. Anna Williamson Wil-liamson was especially honored and received many lovely cards and gifts. A large group of young parents and MIA workers were In Paro-wan Paro-wan on Saturday evening to attend at-tend the Stake Junior Gleaner, Junior M-Men "Sacred To Me" program. Everyone present cn- juyeu ine speaiter wno came from BYU. Paragonah's part on the program was a vocal solo by Miss Phyllis Robb, accompanied by Mrs. Wllma Lamoreaux. I I Recent visitors to Paragonah were Mr. and Mrs. Roy Orton of Salt Lake City. They spent a week end with Kathleen's par- 'ents, Mr. and Mrs. Austin Barton. Bar-ton. Lynn Barton came with them. Legrande and Carolyn Leigh arived In Paragonah on Wednesday Wednes-day of last week for a visit with Carolyn's folks, the Blaine Jones family. They have been in Ren-ton, Ren-ton, Washington since their mar-rlage mar-rlage last summer. A reduction in force at the Boeing Airplane plant where LeGrande was employed em-ployed gave them the opportunl-ty opportunl-ty for a trip home. Friends and relatives In Paragonah Para-gonah were rejoicing over the arrival of a third boy born to Mr. and Mrs. Fred Dalton of Paro-wan Paro-wan last week. Mrs. Lula R. Bas-tian Bas-tian Is great-grandmother to the newcomer. Mr. and Mrs. Myron Abbott en. joyed a week-end trip to Salt Lake City. They were accompant-ed accompant-ed by Mr. and Mrs. Roy Benson, Jr., of Parowan. Heber Lund and LaNel Top-horn Top-horn traveled to Delta to spend the week-end. They were guests of LaNel's brother, Doyle nd his family. Mr. and Mrs. Lor in Robinson and son Jimmy of Kanarraville were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Boardman. Leah Jean's brother has Just returned home from an LDS mission. Mr. and Mrs. Willard Lund left for Salt Lake City on Monday to consult physicians about Wil-lard's Wil-lard's bad foot. They plan to spend the Thanksgiving holiday in Sprlngville with the Keith Watters family. Mr. and Mrs. William T. Davenport Dav-enport returned home last week after a ten day visit to the northern north-ern part of the state. They divided divid-ed their time between the homes of Kay and Margaret Hansen in Salt Lake City. Calvin and Rachel Rach-el Smith of Clearfield, and Byron and Mabel Montague of Payson. The trip was made with thir granddaughter, Mrs. Kathy Skin ner and her Husband. Mrs. A. R. Humphrey and son Conrad of Kanab are visiting here with Mrs. Dorothea Barton and family. They are here for the Thanksgiving holiday week. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Jones traveled north on Sunday. Howard How-ard went to Ogden to the livestock live-stock auction and Gwen stopped in Salt Lake City. She will return re-turn later In the week, bringing her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Janet Jones and her three little girls with her. They will visit here and In Parowan for three weeks while Mel is In California. We understand that Mel left the city by plane Sunday morning for three weeks special commercial credit schooling In San Francisco. Francis-co. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Topham and family of St. George visited here on Thursday with Ivan's mother, Mrs. Bertha L. Topham. Terry Lund returned to Para-ponah Para-ponah rn huslnpsa last week. Duane Lamoreaux had the misfortune to break and ankle bone in basketball practice last week. He now has the Injured leg in a cast. Mrs. Lois Bryant and a friend of Cedar City visited in Paragonah Paragon-ah Saturday evening with Lois' sister, Mrs. Bertha Topham. The Aaronlc Priesthood mem. bers gave the program In Sacrament Sacra-ment meeting on Sunday. Speakers Speak-ers were LaMarr Anderson and Samuel Lister, deacons; Charles Boardman and James Lamoreaux, Lamor-eaux, teachers, and LaNel Topham Top-ham and Neil Talbot, priests. Miss Serry Dawn Evans played a piano solo. Airs. Maurine Williamson and her new son are home from the hospital. A sister, Mrs. Kathleen Wilkerson of Salt Lake City, is visiting with her and assisting with the care of the new baby. On Friday evening of last week the sixth, seventh and eighth grade students enjoyed a party in the school auditorium. Games and refreshments were enjoyed by all. The teacher, Chester Benson, Ben-son, and his wife were present for the occasion. Miss Vickie Lee Robinson sustained sus-tained a serious eye injury last week when she and a 'school mate collided In a game of Dodge Ball. A badly swollen ce and ruptured blood vessel resulted. result-ed. Limited use of the eye and the wearing of dark glasses have been prescribed by the family physician. Mrs. Howard Topham enter-talncd enter-talncd a group of children at a party on Friday in honor of the fifth birthday fo her son Ricky. Blair Mitchell of Cedar City was a week end guest of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. D. Amasa Stones. Mr. and Mrs. Archie M. Lamoreaux Lam-oreaux visited with their daugh-ter, daugh-ter, Mrs. Irene Robinson, and members of her family on Monday. Mon-day. They were enroute from St. George to St. Anthony, Idaho, to spend Thanksgiving with their son Orion and his family. Chester Robinson unfortunately unfortunate-ly mashed and broke the index finger of his right hand last week while at work. Infection developed and the fingernail was removed but his condition is somewhat improved. |
