Show Symphony Orchestra To Open Music Arts Series The Utah Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Maurice Abravanel, will open the 1956-57 Music Arts series In Cedar City. " For the past several years Director Di-rector Abravanel has cooperated with the local Music Arts Committee Com-mittee in maWng the opening of each year's series a grand musical musi-cal event. The concert will be In the College Col-lege of Southern Utah auditorium, auditor-ium, Thursday, Nov. 15 at 8:15 p. m. The program will feature two symphonies and a standard overture. Other numbers on this year's series will include Ruzlerro Riccl, world famed violinist on Dec. 10; Clara Mae Turner of the Met-ropolitan Met-ropolitan Opera on Feb. 7 and the Roman Sisters, piano duo, on March 25. j Featured in the symphony concert will be Berlioz's "Roman Carnival" Overture, Schubert's "Symphony No. 5," and Mendelssohn's Mendels-sohn's "Symphony Italian." |
