' pH f 1 ,o 1 RALPH HANCOCK Ralph Hancock, one of the nation's na-tion's most versatile Journalists, the author of more than two dozen doz-en books on a variety of subjects, sub-jects, South American authority, World War II economic advisor, and lecturer will be the guest 'of the Escalante Knife and Fork Club at its meeting on Monday, Nov. 14 at the El Escalante Hotel. Ho-tel. Hancock, now a resident of Palm Springs, Calif, since 1950, was born In the state of Indiana, 'received his public school education edu-cation in Missouri and took his 'college work at Washington University, Uni-versity, St. Louis. While having a midwest background he has achieved a world-wide outlook. It Is from this viewpoint he will discuss the World Wide Population Pop-ulation Explosion, a problem which has had even the United Nation's personnel figuring otr what could be done if the present pres-ent rate of population growth continues and there is no parallel paral-lel growth made to feed It Recognition of the problem has been wide. It is a question of war wnd peace and the future of mankind." , According to experts on the! subject, there may be as many ar seven billion people living on this earth by the turn of the, century. This is more than the world can feed, even If an augmented aug-mented program is established now. What then will be the effect on our social and economic orders? or-ders? What must be done to encourage en-courage the control of the birthrate birth-rate in the under-developed countries coun-tries and what can be done to increase production of things to eat?
