Show CEDAR CITY SOCIAL SWING By Nola Kupfer Arriving In Cedar City Tuesday Tues-day to spend the rest of August with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ianthus Wright, is Miss Carol Wright You can be sure that not a moment will be wasted between be-tween now and the first of September Sep-tember by this lucky family. There will be so many experiences experi-ences of her past year In Germany Ger-many to be heard and pictures of her extended travels to be seen that the time at home will go rapidly. Carol has been teaching second grade in Hanau. Germany in connection with the U.S. Army program. She left from Frankfort, Germany, landing at Idlewild Airport, in New York, where she picked up a new car to drive west. After her visit here, she will continue on to Long Beach, Calif., where she will teach during dur-ing the coming school year. Mrs. Cloyd Orton and five-months-old Krlstine, are In the midst of a summertime visit at the Ivan Orton heme. Mrs. Orton. the former Jean Dollar, and her daughter are in Utah while Cloyd is attending a three-month radio instruction school In Memphis. Mem-phis. Tenn. Ensign Orton completed com-pleted his first crosscountry flight last week, landing his Jet at Hill Air Force Base. On hand to greet him were his wife and daughter, and his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Orton. Mr. and Mrs. Orton took the oportunlty of bringing their daughter-in-law wind granddaughter home with them from American Fork where they have been visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph H. Dollar. Mrs. Orton and her daughter plan to rejoin Ensign Orton In Pensacola, Fla.. upon completion of hie Instruction. At that time, they will be able to personally congratulate him for receiving his wings, which will officially be awarded to him during dur-ing the coming week. Visiting at the Henry Randall home last week were grandchildren grandchil-dren Connie, Kathy, and Nancy Barber of Salt Lake. They stayed in Cedar to have fun while their parents. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph C. I Barber traveled to Las Vegas for la short vacation. Randy Randall was happy to have his nieces I here for tney helped him to celebrate cele-brate his ninth birthday Saturday Satur-day when he had a birthday j theatre party. The young trio re- turned to Salt Lake City Sunday with their parents, who visited shortly in Cedar before continuing contin-uing home. Mr. and Mis. Randall have also enjoyed two visits this summer with Mrs. Randall's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur W. Woodbury, of Hawthorne. Calif. The Wood-burys Wood-burys recently returned to California Cali-fornia after visiting here and In Salt Lake City with members of their family. In Cedar City and Parowan visiting for the week is Mrs. Larry Lar-ry K. McGarry and son Rick. Before Be-fore returning to her home In Provo, where Mr. McGarry will atend B Y U during he coming school year, Mrs. McGarry and son will visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas G. Barton In Parowan and with her husband's hus-band's family, the G. D. McGar-ry"s McGar-ry"s of this city. Nearing the end of a week's visit with her sister, Mrs. Elva Yergensen. is Mrs. Verna Ras-mussen Ras-mussen of Salt Lake City. Also with Mrs. Rasmusscn as a guest at the Yergensen home Is a niece, Jan Haj s, from Salt Lake City. The Yergensens have enjoyed enjoy-ed taking their visitors to the canyon and the Navajo resort area (or water sports. The Pony League games held the Interest of week-end house guests of Mr. and Mrs. Eldro Rigby.' Wendell Rlgby of Provo, a brother of Eldro, and his wife, were In Cedar City, combining business with pleasure. Mr. Rlgby Rlg-by was official scorekeeper and covered the league play for the Provo Herald. After the series of games, Mr. and Mrs. Rlgby continued con-tinued on to Long Beach, Calif, to visit with' relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Johnson had as their house guest last week, Mrs. Doris Tanner of Salt Lake City. Mrs. Tanner, an accomplished ac-complished pianist, and Mrs. Johnson studied piano together In New York several years ago. On Sunday Mrs. Tanner returned to her home with Mr. and Mrs. Johnson and family, who plan to spend a few days In Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Bradrhaw were In Salt Lake last week to meet their daughter, Mrs. Floyd Munon. and grandchildren Paul I and Kristy, at they alighted Pzrn the train which brought therr from, their home in Boise, Idaho. Mrc Munson and children Joined her parents for the drive to Ce- dar City. Monday of next week: Mr. Munson will arrive to spend a few days before he and his family return to their Idaho home. Along with visiting Mrs. Munson'a parents they will also be visiting often with the J. Le-var Le-var Munsons. ' Mr. and Mrs. Emerson Watts-find Watts-find that they are missing their grandson Charles Peterson these days. Charles has been in Cedar City most of the summer with hi grandparents. Last week his father, fath-er, Eugene C. Peterson, Mrs. Watt's son. arrived in Cedar for a short visit before taking his son home with him to Santa Fe. N. M. For the trip from New Mexico Mex-ico Mr. Peterson was Joined by a title friend of Charles. Eric James, also of Santa Fe. During1 his stay in Utah Mr. Peterson took the boys to Salt Lake City, Zion and Bryce canyons sightseeing. sight-seeing. Serving as co-hostess for the evening with Mrs. Schmuts; was Mrs. Alice Wright Mrs. Ber-nella Ber-nella Jones, club president, had the proirram In charge. She had' asked Mrs. Lillian Lunt. Mrs. Miriam Luke, Mrs. Nona Brown; Mrs. Alice Wright and Mrs. Annette An-nette Betenson, to assist her - readers as they presented Time-Limit' Time-Limit' a Korean War play.
