Show CEDAR CITY SOCIAL SWING Mr. and Mrs. Homer Jones traveled to California last Friday Fri-day to be present when their son Thomas J. Jones, was ordained Bishop of the Lakewood LDS Ward Sunday. T. J. has been making his home in Lakewood for the past five years. He and his wife have three children. A trip to the World's Fair in being enjoyed by Mrs. Joseph N. (Ramona) Smith and one of her sisters. They planned to be gone for two weeks. Visiting with their grandmother grandmo-ther in Cedar City are the three children of Mrs. Colleen Cook, Salt Lake City. The Cook children are guests of Mrs. Mae Leigh while their mother is in New York as a member of the Salt Lake Tabernacle Choir. Marian and Leslie Hahne have been to Logan and Salt Lake City Ci-ty where they enjoyed spending the Pioneer Day holiday with Mr. and Mrs. Bob Hahne and with Mr. and Mrs. James Bosanko. Miss Vivian Nelson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Garth Nelson Nel-son has recently visited in Salt Lake City. She spent nearly three weeks there as guest of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Neil Chappell and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Ipson, former Cedar City residents, stopped here last week to visit with their many friends. The lp-sons, lp-sons, who make their home in California, along with their two children, are currently visiting in Panguitch with their parents, parents. Former Cedar City residents, Mr. and Mrs. DeMarr Moss sent word from their home in Woods Cross, Utah, of the birth of their baby boy. The baby was born July 17th in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Knell were pleased to have their son Bruce and family home for the Pioneer Day Holiday. They arrived here from Salt Lake City to be with the Knell family, including Trudy Knell, who has been spending the summer here from BYU, and Mr. and Mrs. Doug Knell. Other visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Knell were Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Overman of Oklahoma City, Okla. They arrived Monday to tour the Utah Parks and spend some time fishing. Mr. Overman is the past president of the American Amer-ican Motor Hotel Association. Out of town guests were welcomed wel-comed Thursday by Mr. and Mrs. Berkley Graham, Cedar City. The local coupled greeted Berkley's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Graham and their son Russell of Bountiful, Utah. On the evening of their arrival ar-rival they were entertained at a hnrhoniin minper with Mr and Mrs. Michael Hanson and family and Mr. and Mrs. Doug Knell and family joining the Grahams. Following the barbeque get-together, the Grahams were pleased pleas-ed to see Mr. and Mrs. Jim Ford of Orem, who stopped for a brief visit before going on to Los Angeles An-geles and then Hawaii. Also arriving ar-riving Thursday at the Graham residence were Mr. and Mrs. Dale Koskl of Salt Lake City. The Kos-kies Kos-kies and Grant Grahams were overnight guests here. Mrs. Carmen Nelson and her daughter Kim have returned to their home in Salt Lake City after af-ter visiting with Carmen's parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Condle. Also returning the Salt Lake City with Mrs. Nelson was Miss Lura Bringhurst, who has been visiting vis-iting here with her sister, Mrs. Fred Smith. |
