Show CEDAR CITY SOCIAL SWING Mr. and Mrs. Bill Munford, : former Cedar City residents, and their daughter, Carol Lou, visited I here from Henderson over the ' week end. j ' DOVER REUNION j Fifty-six members of the Dover ! family met Saturday morning fori a meeting held in connection I with their reunion. Later in the I afternoon a hundred and ten 1 members gathered lor a picnic at Wood's Kanch. Family members attending from out-of-town were ! Mr. and Mrs. Otto Dover, Ogilen; I and son Clyde and children from Brigham City; Mr. and Mrs. John; Kennieott, Salt Lake Ci;y; Mr. j and Mrs. (lien Clark of Los An- j gele: Mr. and Mrs. Dee Lang and children, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde j Klingonsmith, Mr. and Mrs. La- Var Hirschi and family, Mr. Lee Smith and Mr. and .Mrs. Don Kay Melling of Las Vegas and Boulder City, New; Mr. and Mrs. Moroni Klingonsmith, Hacienda Heights, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Lew. is Smith, Kearns; Mr. and Mrs. Frances C. Jones and family of Springville; Mrs. Bessie Jones Pierce, Provi., Mr. and Mrs. Evan Williams, American Fork; Mr. and Mrs. Archie (Jrcgory, Central; Cen-tral; Mr. and Mrs. Brian Jensen, Sunset; and Mrs. Viola Jones Taylor and four children. Several 1 'amilies also attended from St. I George, Mrs. Amanda J. Fawcett and son, William Jones, and Mr. j and Mrs. Leslie C. Jones of Mid-iland. Mid-iland. Ore., who were visiting in St. George. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Doug-las Corry have been their daughter, daugh-ter, Connie Long, and baby of Las Vegas. Mrs. Amy Van Cott has enjoyed a visit from her sister, Mrs. Irene Herbert and her son Floyd of Valinda, Calif. They were in Utah 12 days during which time they acompanied Mrs. Ada Leigh to Salt Lake City where they all visited with Mrs. Imlay Taylor. Week end guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Lawrence have been their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Biederman and family of Over-ton, Over-ton, Nev. Monday evening, the Earl Lawrences entertained at an out-door steak fry in honor of Mrs. Lawrence's brother, Gordon Jones, who was celebrating his birthday anniversity. Family members attended to en.fcjy the party complete with birthday cake. Mr. and Mrs. Carl O. Dotson have been week end guests at th home of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Albertson in Cedar City. The couple cou-ple left Monday enroute to their home In Pocatello, Idaho. Monday Mon-day evening the Albertson's visited vi-sited with Mrs. Albertson'!, sister. Mrs. Edith Taylor of Santa Clara prior to her departure by plane or Fairbanks. Alaska, where she will vacation for several months j with her son-in-law and daughter, daugh-ter, Mr. and Mrs. James Adams. ROUND TABLE CLUB Another delightful morning was spent by lti members of the Hound Table Club, who met to-gether to-gether at the home of Britania Durrant last Wednesday. For the ocasion Pearl Kogers, program chairman, had Klene Jenson review re-view the hook ' Across Five Aprils' Ap-rils' by author Irene Hunt. The book, a popular novel, won the Charles Foiieit award. Miss Ardis Daley, bride-to-be has been (''.'. -it ained at two special spe-cial pre-nuptial parties. Joyce Nelson was hostess at a personal shower given several weeks ago for the honored guest and her friends. More recently, Mrs. Dwayne Jones served as hostess at a luncheon and shower held for Miss Daley and attended by U people. The luncheon and shower combination was at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Eldro Kigby. Thursday, July 1, Dr. and Mrs. Paul Lunt entertained at a unique party held for members of their birthday club who were honoring Mrs. Verdell Jones on her birthday anniversary. Club members and their partners left their shoes at the door step when they entered an imaginary oriental orien-tal setting. Decorations and the authentic Japanese food expressed express-ed the mock setting. Couples were seated, according to the traditional tradi-tional mode, at low tables where they were served a variety of Japanese Jap-anese dishes, including Sukyaki. The dinner had been prepared for the occasion by Kent Hulet. Games and sharing of the birthday birth-day cake with the honored guest climaxed the evening. Completing a three week vacation vaca-tion at Ashtabula, Ohio are Mr. and Mrs. Alex Spevak and their sons, Richard and Lane. They are currently visiting Mr. Spe-vak's Spe-vak's mother, Mrs. Theresa Spevak. Spe-vak. Enroute back home, the Cedar Ce-dar City family plans to stay In Detroit for a few days with Mr. Spevak's sister.. |
