Show Mrs. Ann Madsen Dies Funeral Held In Summit Saturday Ann D. Madsen, 77, Summit, died Thursday, August 6, in a Cedar City hospital. Shew as born Nov. 30, 188G, in Summit to Moroni and Martha Allen Dalley. She married George Isaac Smith, and was later divorced. di-vorced. She married Nels C. Madsen Mad-sen in 1915. They have made their home in Sur nit where she was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Latter-day Saints. Survivors include her husband, three sons and two daughters, George Theo Smith, Ogden; Elmo K. Smith, Milford; Lural M. Smith, Hacienda Heights, Calif.; Mrs. Earl (Norean) Smith, Mrs. M. L. (Leona) Jenkins, both of VVhittier, Calif. Two stepsons, one stepdaughter, Elmer Madsen, Mad-sen, Las Vegas, JNev.; Ardell Madsen, Cedar City; Mrs. Frank (Afton) Clark, Springville; 15 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one sister, May Simkins, Circleville. Impressive funeral services were held in the Summit Ward Chapel Saturday for Mrs. Madsen. Mad-sen. Prelude and postlude music was furnished by Sylva Stap-ley Stap-ley who also accompanied the Singing Mothers who sang for the opening song, "Sometimc-We'll "Sometimc-We'll Understand and the closing number, "Peace I Leave with Thee"; a vocal solo, "Lay My Head Beneath a Rose," sung by Bert Carpenter, accompanied by Beth Leigh. Invocation by Howard Ho-ward Dally. Benediction by Raymond Ray-mond Farrow. Remarks by Bishop Bish-op Ivan Dalley, who also conducted con-ducted the services. Talks by Harold Smith, Frank Dalley and O. II. Smith. Dedication of the grave was by Alma Lawrence. Pall bearers were Larry Jenkins, Jen-kins, De Wayne Smith, Lynn Peterson, Pet-erson, Earl Smith, Melvin Jenkins Jen-kins and Gordon Peterson. Flower girls were granddaughters. Burial Bur-ial was in the Summit Cemetery. |
