Show Cedar City Social Swing The En Avante Club met Wed-nesday Wed-nesday evening at the home of Mary MacDonald. Mrs. Zola Dover Dov-er reviewer the book "My Wayward Way-ward Parent," by Elizabeth Cobb, after which refreshments were, served. Guests for the evening! were Sage Zeimer, Lillian Mac farlane, Isobel Williams and Ne- cia Mullett. j Bridge took the spotlight Tuesday Tues-day evening when Mrr. Geneve Plummer entertained her club. She Invited Gladys Isom and Eleena Osborne as special guests. Prizes for the evening were won by Gwyn Clark, Carol Johnson and Mary L. Bastow. A family dinner was held at the Alex Williams residence on Sunday prior to the farewell tes-1 timonial for their son Tom Wll- Hams who will leave In the near, future for the mission field. Out-of-town guests for the occasion were Mr. Williams' two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Whitworth of Los Angeles, An-geles, and Mrs. Gwen Allen of Mapleton, Utah, and J. Collin I Allen, also of Mapleton. Anoth- er sister. Alice Williams, was also on hand to enjoy the get-together. get-together. While in Cedar, they will be the guests of Mrs. Halg"s brother-in-law and sister. Mr. and Mrs. Therol McArthur. They also plan to spend time visiting In Tooele with Mrs. Haig's parents. Off for a summer filled with new experiences and beautiful scenery is Miss Laurena Jones, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Erastus Jones. Miss Jones has accepted a position as dance Instructor at Camp Pinttrest In Naples, Maine from June 28 to Aug. 28. The camp Is for girls from the age of six to 16. Miss Jones traveled by car from Salt Lake City with friends. She plans to visit points of Interest along the way with major stops In Washington. Wash-ington. D. C. and New York before be-fore continuing on up the coast to New Hampshire and then, on I to Maine. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Dover had as their house guests during the past week Mrs. Dover's sister and husband. Dr. and Mrs. M. L. 1 Kent, and their daughter Jane. jThe Kents had been to Logan I where Jane has been attending ! school and were enroute to their '. home In Mesa, Ariz. Mr. and Mrs. Austin Hevwood I and two sons. Richard and Reed are at the present time In the East. They are anxiously jooKing forward to greeting their son. Gam, who will arrive in New York June 15, aboard the Queen Mary after completing two years in the Argentine mission. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hansink entertained their pinochle club last Mondav evening. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Morris were Invited as guests to enjoy the evening i with members Mr. and Mrs. Ther-ol Ther-ol McArthur. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Heyborne, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Or-ton, Or-ton, and Mr. and Mrs. Elwyn JlaL terman. A luncheon was served and prizes were given to the Haltermans, Ortons and to Mr. 1 and Mrs. Morris. |
