Show Invitations Issued For Dixie College Horse Show Invitations have been mailed for the first annual Dixie Col-iPKe Col-iPKe Horse Show to be conducted j Friday and Saturday, May 9 and 10, in the famous Dixie Sun Bowl in St. George., Ray D. Garner, Gar-ner, chairman of the event, announced an-nounced today. To be the first of what Dixie college officials and community leaders hope to make an annual an-nual event, the show has the two-pronged purpose of raising additional funds for the completion com-pletion of a new women's residence resi-dence hall currently in construction construc-tion on the Dixie college campus cam-pus and of promoting interest in fine horses and horsemanship horseman-ship in the southern Utah southern Nevada and northern Arizona area served by the Dixie college. Horse breeders from Utah, Nevada, Ne-vada, Idaho, Arizona, California, Oregon and Washington have indicated in-dicated an interest in the show, Mr. Garner said, and the planning plan-ning committee expects wide participation in the various com-petition com-petition for trophies, ribbons and other prizes. Las Vegas, Nev., horsemen are enthusiastic about the show, Mr. Garner indicated. Classes In which competition will be conducted include jumping, jump-ing, horsemanship, fine harness, stock horse, musical chairs, three-gaited, pleasure horse, roadsters, pole bending, five-gaited, five-gaited, hackney pony, Shetland pony, parade horse, potato race, stoke race and walking horse. Junior and senior divisions will be found in most classes, and ladies will compete in a number of events. The Dixie college band will appear ap-pear "on parade" as a feature attraction of the two-day show. Executive committee for the Dixie College Horse Show consists con-sists of the following: Ray D.
