Show HAPPENINGS IN PflRAGONflH I By Nora Lund Mrs. Merlin Hunt was called to Tonapah, Nev. Friday to the bedside of her brother, who was very ill. Mr. Hunt took her to Delta where she made connect-sions connect-sions with family members from points north and traveled to the Nevada City. On Saturday night Merlin Hunt was seriously injured by a fall at his home here. He was found by his daughter Mildred, in an unconscious condition about 9 p. m. Help was summoned and an ambulance was called from Cedar City and Mr. Hunt was removed to the Iron County hospital. Mrs. Hunt was notified and came immediately. im-mediately. A brain specialist was flown in from Salt Lake City and he performed a delicate operation op-eration on Mr. Hunt Sunday. His condition at this time remains very critical. Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Robin son were happy to learn that -they are grandparents to a little baby girl. Mr. and Mrs. Dee Conder of Magna are the proud parents. Mrs. Conder wiU be remembered re-membered as the former Lucille Robinson. Little Bonnie Lucile Robinson arrived Oct. 11. Bill Hurst of Panguitch called on a few of his many friends here on Friday. Mr. Hurst is well known In this community, having hav-ing served in this district as a forest ranger for .many years. Mr. and Mrs. Cal Smith and five children of Clearfield spent Thursday through Saturday visiting vis-iting with Mr. and Mrs. Wm. T. Davenport, Hazel Jean Robinson, Sarah Robinson and WUma Lam-oreaux Lam-oreaux and their families. Mr. and Mrs. Allen Miller of Panguitch were guests of the Don Bartons on Saturday. Mrs. Barton Bar-ton and Mr. Miller are brother and sister. Mrs. Reva Matheson and children chil-dren of Cedar City were here for a few days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Robinson. Miss Vesta Rae Barton spent the school holiday week end in the northern part of the state visiting relatives and for a check up with her doctor. Word has been received by Mr. and Mrs. Basil Gilger that Mr. and Mrs. Honsvick of Salt Lake City, the former Anna May Dun-ton, Dun-ton, are the first time parents of a fine baby boy. Mrs. Asa Topham took his wife, Emma, to the hospital In Cedar City Sunday morning suffering from extremely high blood pressure. pres-sure. She seemed to be somewhat improved at this time. Mrs. Gertrude Ger-trude Barton is also in the hospital hospi-tal for treatment. Mrs. Mable Robinson and five children, former residents of our community, took advantage of the school holiday and spent a few days in town visiting the T. A. Robinsons, the Ivan Robbs and other relatives and friends. They returned to their home In Salt Lake City on Sunday evening. They also spent some time in Parowan with the Bob Millers. Mrs. Sarah R. Stones returned las't Tuesday from Colorado where she has spent two weeks with her brothers John R. Robinson Robin-son and Joseph Robinson and other relatives. Mrs. George A. Topham was recovered sufficiently from her recent surgery to be brought home from the Iron County hospital. hos-pital. Her daughter, Mrs. F.lma Simkins of Cedar City came to care for her mother during hor convelescence. Stake High Councilmen E. Ray Lyman and D. Watson Adams' of Parowan gave timely and interesting in-teresting remarks in Sacrament meeting Sunday, Mrs. Lyman and Mrs. Adams accompanied their husbands. Miss Laura Lamoreaux played a piano solo as a special musical number. Enoch, Summit, rarowan" First, Second and Third, and Paragon-ah Paragon-ah Wards present outstanding original road shows throughout the stake Monday night. Besides being entertaining to the audiences audi-ences in each town, such activities activi-ties are very educational to the participants. The winner of the stake will compete with seven other stakes in the Regional Road Show meet Nov. 12 In Cedar City. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Mortensen were visiting here and in Parowan Paro-wan over the week end from Provo. |
