Show B. P. W. Club Honors State President At Banquet Tuesday Mrs. Suzanna Mae Grua of Salt Lake City, president of the Utah State Business and Professional Profes-sional Women's clubs, made an official visit to the Cedar City BPW club Tuesday. She was honored hon-ored at a banquet at El Escalante Escal-ante hotel that evening, and was the principal speaker at the function. She urged the members of the club to work for good legislation, legisla-tion, promote qualified women for policy making posts, and support our government by helping help-ing to recruit women for the armed forces. She also urged them to assist worthwhile com munity agencies such as the Red Cross, Community Chest, and' other welfare groups, and to work for health and safety in the community. Mrs. Leta Cowley, district director, di-rector, who is also a member of the local club, made hef official visitation at the Tuesday meeting. meet-ing. Accompanying Mrs. Grua was Miss Winifred E. Hewlett of Salt Lake City, state corresponding correspond-ing secretary. The three ladies also visited at Beaver Monday, and at St. George Wednesday. They are in Panguitch today and will visit the Kanab club Friday. In charge of the Cedar City meeting was the welfare committee, com-mittee, composed of Mrs. A. F. Rich, chairman; Mrs. Leonard Whiting and Mrs. A. B. Horsley. t at |
