Show Seven Initiated At Special Lions Club Meet Formal initiation ceremonies were conducted by the Cedar City Lions Club at a special meeting meet-ing held Monday evening at Hotel Ho-tel Escalante for seven members of the civic group. Included in the Initiation group were Col. Homer P. Anderson, Gam Seegmiller, Al Jensen, Car-lyle Car-lyle Mitchell, Elmer Wood, Alfred Olson and Tony Lambert. Following the initiation, chevrons chev-rons were given to members of the club for service in the organization or-ganization for 10, 15 and 20 years. The affair was a dinner meeting. Twenty chevrons were Issued. Business conducted during the special meeting Included a discussion dis-cussion on the 1955 state Lions Club Convention, which will be held in Cedar Citv. Reed Berrett.. general convention chairman, made a short report on the progress. pro-gress. 20 -Year Awards Heading the list of service awards was L. N. Marsden, Jr., who was awarded a 20 year charter char-ter chevron. Monarch chevrons for 20 years service were awarded award-ed to Durham Morris and Morris C. Roberts. A 15-year charter chevron was presented to M. A. Cowley and Monarch chevrons for 15-years went to Pratt M. Bethers, C. Gordon Gor-don Chrlstensen, Dr. Reed W. Farnsworth, Dr. A. L. Graff, Wesley Wes-ley C. Mullett, J. Furl Porter, and Loren N. Whetten. Ten-year charter chevrons were presented to Boyd Leonard, with presentation of monarch chevrons chev-rons to Charles B. Cooley, H. Karl Harrison, L. D. Heywood, Daniel M. Jones, Ray Knell, H. M.. Nee-ley. Nee-ley. Bert Smith and Ren Taylor. The meeting replaced the regular regu-lar Monday noon luncheon of the organization. Ray Llndquist, club president, presided over the meeting. |
