Since the Softball association offers a trophy for the city champions, cham-pions, a play-off game will be necessary to determine the winner. With the Southern Utah tournament now on, it will be necessary to play the city championship cham-pionship game some time next week. Arrangements for the game will be made as soon as the tournament is over, according to Bevan Bradshaw, association secretary. sec-retary. Each of the two teams has won 12 games and lost two. The teams clashed twice during the season and divided the series, the mines team winning the first by a score of 9 to 6 and the cafe team walking off with the other game by a 7-1 margin. Each lost to Desert Mound, El Rey by a 11-5 score, and Columbia by a 4-2 score. The Desert Mound team finished finish-ed in third place in the city race, losing four early season games, one each to Columbia, El Rey, Utah Construction, and Bradshaw Chevrolet. The El Rey Cafe won two make-up games during the past week to clinch a tie with the Iron Mines team. The victories were scored over Bradshaw Fire-store, Fire-store, 14-4, and Utah Construction, Construc-tion, 12-6. The Columbia Iron Mines team stayed in a first place tie, by winning easily, 17 to 0 over Peoples Market. In the only other game of the week, Utah Construction won from Bradshaw Chevrolet, 9 to 5. |
