Show Officials of Livestock Show Ready Plans for Opening Preparations for readying the show barn at the Branch Agricultural Agricul-tural college for the eleventh annual an-nual Southern Utah Livestock Show are now being rushed in time for the opening on Sept. 6, according to show officials. Premium booklets have been mailed out to participants of the show in former years, and others are available for those who wish them. Entry blanks are expected to start coming in near the end of the month, according to those in charge. Arrangements were made this week for the Livestock Show Award banquet, which will be held on Friday evening, Sept. 7, in the ballroom of El Escalante hotel. This banquet will honor the boys and girls who exhibit animals at the show. Featured speaker of the evening eve-ning will be Dr. Daryl Chase, newly appointed director of the BAC. During the evening, awards will be given to the exhibitors and various winners at the show. Judging of show entries will begin Sept. 6, with the Smith-Hughes Smith-Hughes and 4-H club judging set for Friday morning. An exhibitor's exhibit-or's luncheon w ill be held Friday noon, with a special auction sale of breeding stock slated for the afternoon. The auction sale of all fat stock will begin at 10 a. m. Saturday, and continue until all animals are sold. Invitations to packers and feeder buyers throughout the state are expected expect-ed to furnish a good market for animals entered in the show. |
