Show Lions Prepare For Annual Minstrel Show Members of the Cedar City Lions club have started preparations for the annual Minstrel show-presented show-presented eaeli Thanksgiving for the past several years. The show, started as a project to raise funds for community service by the club, has become so popular that it is accepted as Cedar City's principal Thanksgiving entertainment. en-tertainment. This popular fun show has attracted at-tracted turn-away crowds each year, as people of the community communi-ty have turned out to see well known club members in ridiculous ridicu-lous characterizations, to hear the good natured "ribbing" directed di-rected at community leaders, and to enjoy musical numbers presented pre-sented by talented members of the organization. All funds raised through the presentation of the Minstrel have been used for community betterment, better-ment, and the support given the club has resulted in the completion comple-tion of many worthwhile projects in the community. Dr. J. S. Prestwich has been named as chairman of the committee com-mittee in charge of this year's show, and he will be assisted by-Gordon by-Gordon Christensen, Pratt Beth-ers Beth-ers and Ray Lindquist, members of the committee. Selection of end men, dancers, sneHnltv niimhpr Individuals i and groups, quartets and soloists solo-ists for the event is nearly complete, com-plete, according to Dr. Prestwich, Prest-wich, and most of the men have already started practice for their numbers. The theme of the show, as usual will not be announced until the night of the performance, perform-ance, but patrons may rest assured as-sured that it will deal with a pertinent local subject and will create plenty of fun and entertainment enter-tainment for the Thanksgiving evening's entertainment. |
