Show Expect Development Of Uranium Ore To Get Under Way Henry Bulloch, Cedar City, declared de-clared Tuesday he has known of the uranium-bearing formations in the Orderville Gulch area near Zion National park since 1919, but was unable to get development develop-ment started because of several difficulties. The Salina Mining Co., Compton, Calif., has taken a lease on 3( secondary uranium ore claims in that area. A livestock operalor, Mr. Bulloch Bul-loch said he has 51 claims in the Orderville Gulch area. Structurally Struc-turally the region is a conglomerate conglom-erate formation in the Dakota sandstone, a geological stratum containing much petrified wood and dinossaur fossils, Mr. Bulloch said. He saW that ore samples had been examined by a representative representa-tive of the Atomic Energy commission com-mission some time ago, but that a test disclosed only 0.1 per cent uranium content. Yet, ore now being shipped has shown uranium uran-ium content as high as .23 per cent, Mr. Bulloch added. Development of the deposits is expected to get under way next spring. |
