Show Parowan Rams Rush Drills for 12 Pre-Season Games With six men back from last I year's first ten, two of whom were members of the starting-lineup starting-lineup all last year, Coach William Wil-liam (Twist) Jones, Parowan high school coach is working his men hard each night making ready for the coming basketball season. John Benson and Melvin Mitch ell are the regulars back from last year's first five. Other members mem-bers of last year's squad reporting report-ing include David Orton, Milton Mortensen, Roy Benson and Melvin Mel-vin Hyatt. Men added to make up his tentative first 10 are Gale Stolk, Tommy Dobrasky, Rodney Bentley and Donald Stubbs, all of whom saw plenty of action on last year's B team. Coach Jones has lined up the most strenuous practice schedule ever attempted by the local school, with the Rams opening on their home floor against Pan-guitch Pan-guitch high on Friday, Nov. 28, and then going to Circleville for a skirmish with Piute high the following night, Nov. 29. From then until league play begins in the Millard division of Region Six on Jan. 9, the Rams will play two games each week. Friday, Dec. 5, the Rams go to Tooele for a game then on to Grantsville on Dec. 6. On Dec. 12, Hurricane comes to Parowan and on Dec. 13, the Rams go to Dixie. Dec, 19, Parowan plays at Cedar and on Dec. 20, Dixie comes to Parowan. Dec. 26, Parowan at Hurricane; Dec. 27, Cedar at Parowan. Par-owan. Jan. 2, Parowan at Pan-guitch, Pan-guitch, and Jan 3, Piute at Parowan. Par-owan. The league play opens with the Rams entertaining the Milford Tigers here. Coach Jones has also picked the following group to be members mem-bers of a B squad for the year: Connell Mitchell, Ronald Mortensen, Mor-tensen, Lyle Mortensen, Scotty Haycock, Carlyle Rollins, Donald Gurr, Eric Clark, Larry Daily, Larry King, Tebbs Adams, and possibly Orland Halterman and Melvin Orton. |
