Show "What A Life" Presented by BAC Dramatists Cast of "What A Life," fall quarter 'dramatic offering at Branch Agricultural college, was preparing Thursday night for the second presentation of the comedy com-edy after a successful opening Wednesday evening. High school students from Cedar Ce-dar and Parowan high schools made up the audience, for the first night . presentation of the Clifford Goldsmith comedy. The p'ay was ably directed by Twain Tippetts, with a cast of unusually talented students. Many Ma-ny of the students, including those playing the lead roles were appearing for the first time in a college production. Harold Hickman, Hick-man, Beaver freshman, gave a sensitive portrayal of the be- leagured "Henry Aldrich", showing show-ing a fine sense of comedy af well as an understanding of the emotional quality of the role. Carol Ann Matheson, Parowan, another newcomer to the BAC stage, was refreshingly young and appealing as Henry's girl friend, Barbara. Peggy Jo Holmes of Kanab, will share the spotlight in the same role Thursday evening eve-ning and again Saturday, while Miss Matheson will play the part Friday night. Miss Holmes, another an-other freshman, has shown her-' her-' self equally competent in re hearsals. A large cast of m supporting players kept the play rollicking through the series of misadventures misadven-tures that lead to Henry's arrest for stealing a band. Shirley Paice, Beaver is a Junior Jun-ior at B A C, but is appearing as Henry's mother in her first dramatic role here. She Is convincingly con-vincingly imperialistic, as are the members of the faculty at Central high. In these roles are Scott Jones, Jane Petty, Geraldine Rollo, Cedar Ce-dar City; Norma Kimber, Delta, and Richard M. Rowley, Instructor Instruc-tor in speech and English; Tony Dalton, Parowan, makes an excellent ex-cellent school bully, while the love interest is well provided by Bette Larsen, Kanab, and Clarence Clar-ence Jolley, Tropic. Four outstanding out-standing character parts are portrayed por-trayed by Bob Harris, Delta; Marion Mar-ion Sevy, Cedar City; Rath Reynolds, Rey-nolds, Beaver, and Pat Thompson, Thomp-son, Las Vegas. Clark Rollins, (Continued on Back Page) BAG PLAY (Continued from Page One) another new face on the B A C stage, does a commendable job as an eager but misunderstood student. Don Knight, who was seen in "Joan of Lorraine", has an entirely different assignment as the blase detective, and turns in a good performance. Sherlene Jensen and Norma Huffman have walk-on parts in the show as well as being important im-portant members of the production produc-tion staff. Miss Jensen, from Enterprise, En-terprise, is in charge of makeup, make-up, and Miss Huffman, Bunker- ville, Nev., has served as promp-er. promp-er. Alan Hutchings, Beaver, is in charge of scenery and properties. |
