Show To the Editor of the Chronicle In an article which appear appeared d in the thelast thelast thelast last issue of the CHRONICLE under the heading of Athletic Notes I think a gross injustice is done to the members of the University football team Evidently the person who wrote that article is desirous of having a game of football played between the University team and the Y M. M C. C A. A If such a game could be arranged no doubt the Athletic Association would be benefited and it would furnish amusement for all who are interested in that kind of sport But because the members of the football football football foot foot- ball team do not feel that they could spare the time to prepare for such a game gives no occasion for the sarcastic remark which appears in that article article article- It is a great disgrace to the Athletic Association that these so called patriotic students of the University cannot afford three hours a week to practice The writer of that article also states that some of the mem members bers of the football team have the spring fever and would not practice if they knew they were going to drop dead the next moment if if I they did not I believe that the latter remark is entirely without foundation In conversing with the mem members bers of the football team I find that all those who refuse to go out to practice for this proposed proposed proposed pro pro- posed game are carrying from froll eighteen to twenty-three twenty hours work per week and they state that if it they could possibly possibly pos- pos sibly do their required school work and prepare for a game they would gladly do so Therefore I feel safe in asserting asserting asserting assert assert- ing that those who refuse to go out to practice do not do so either because of spring fever or for lack of patriotism Fred N.
