Show En Avante Club Holds Christmas Party At Home Of Member Wednesday evening, December 17 the En Avante club enjoyed a most delightful Christmas party at the home of Vivian Palmer with every member present. The table was beautifully decorated and a dell clous turkey dinner was served; Christmas candles providing the light. Florence Corry acted as Toast-mistress, Toast-mistress, Toasts were given by Claudia Forsythe, Zola Dover, and Shirley Marchant Esther Jones sang three numbers, accompanied by Vivian palmer at the piano: "O Holy Night," "The Holy City", and "White Christmas." Preceding Esther's songs the following fol-lowing was a very timely toast given by Florence: "When Santa Claus meant more than this worry and this flurry of 'Merry Christmas to you but I am In a hurry. Before merchants started campaigning campaign-ing In October To empty our purses over and over. Before Christmas chimes began to sing j 'Come all ye Faithful and buy everything.' That true Christmas spirit we want to renew And Esther will help us as she sings her songs through." Following dinner, games were played with gifts being awarded to each member from under the Christmas tree.
