Dr. John Beal, director of the 1947 show, who has accepted a like position this year called a meeting of the Executive Committee Com-mittee of the Southern Utah Livestock Show in the Chamber of Commerce office, June 28. All committee assignments will be completed at this meeting, with special auenuon given 10 premium pre-mium booklet so it can be published pub-lished well 'in advance of the show. The shed will be built from the lean-to, originally part of an auditorium that the government donated to the college recently. This portion of the building was moved from Topaz virtually Intact In-tact last winter. The college and the show association will expend approximately $6500 for the structure. However, this is much less than the estimated $20,000 the structure would cost if the organization had provided all the materials. The completed building's build-ing's dimensions are 136 by 60 feet. Side sections of the building have been removed and placed on the foundations. With this completed workmen will take out all floors and partitions and use the material toward completing com-pleting the center portion of the building which will be considerably consider-ably higher than the side sections. sec-tions. Completed, the shed will add a great deal to existing campus facilities for the show. It is ex- pected that the unit will provide ample shelter for all swine and possibly for the fat sheep. With the completion of the proposed sales ring, the Southern South-ern Utah Livestock show wall boast some of the most complete livestock facilities found in the western states. |
