Show Signs on Highway To Appeal For Forest Safety Utah highways will be painted at strategic locations leading to range lands and forests with the appeal "Keep Utah Green", according ac-cording to arrangements completed com-pleted Monday by the Utah State Road Commission and the Keep Utah Green committee, Vern K. Yoho, chairman, announced Monday. Mon-day. The Utah State Board of Forestry For-estry and Fire control and the Read Commission are cooperating cooperat-ing in making templates, providing pro-viding the green paint and district dis-trict workers to apply the appeal ap-peal which will be seen by increasing in-creasing numbers of fishermen and vacationists going into the canyons and mountains of Utah according to Mr. Yoho. The State Road Commission Is also constructing rectangular road signs including the "Keep Utah Green" appeal which will appear at critical places to be; determined by the Joint committee, com-mittee, according to W. L. Anderson, An-derson, chief engineer, State Road Commission. "Heavy rains and resultant floods which are likely to occur where fires have swept mountain areas not only are costly to Utahns generally but also increase in-crease road building and maintenance main-tenance costs", declared Mr. Anderson. |
