Show Last Rites Are Held Thursday for Joseph (Dode) Bess Funeral services were conducted conduct-ed in the Third ward chapel last Thursday afternoon for Joseph B. (Dode) Bess, who died on July 9, following a lingering illness of nearly 10 years duration. The services were conducted by Bishop A. E. Whatcott. Invocation Invo-cation was by Joseph E. Smith of Milford, benediction by I. E. Riddle Rid-dle and dedication of the grave by Owen Matheson. Speakers at the services were Charles R. Hunter and Samuel F. Leigh, with remarks made by Bishop Whatcott. The musical program Included two numbers, "Sometime We'll Understand", and "Abide With Me", by a mixed quartet composed com-posed of Mrs. Zelma Lunt, Mrs. Arvilla Day Ray Cosslett and Myles Walker, and a vocal duet, "In The Garden", by Mr. Cosslett Coss-lett and Mr. Walker. Mrs. Beth Leigh was accompanist, and organ or-gan music was by Mrs. Luana Riddle. |
