Show Jaycees Start Project to Improve Park The Cedar City Junior Chamber Cham-ber of Commerce is sponsoring a project this summer to raise funds to plant grass and trees on the new city park east of the creek where the softball and hardball diamonds are located. It is proposed to landscape the entire area, and establish a picnic pic-nic area in among the trees. In order to raise funds to do this work, the Jaycees will give away to new 1949 Kaiser De Luxe sedan September 10, plus two radios.. The car has been purchased through Cedar Motors and the radios through Cowan's Gift Shop, with substantial reductions In the dealers' costs. One of the radios is a Westinghouse table model combination, the other an RCA table model. These prizes will be given away Saturday, September 10 at an open air dance in Cedar City following the close of the Southern Utah Livestock Show. The Jaycee-Ettes are helping out in the project. Milt Jolley is the general chairman of the project with a committee consisting of Corry Olson, Robert Tuckett, L. D. Watson, Wat-son, Maylin Maxfield, Jay Hall and Alex Angelo. Everyone in Cedar City is asked ask-ed to aid this drive for funds, in order to help this worthwhile civic undertaking. |
