Show Theo Cor ry Made Chairman of July 4 Activities Theo Corry has been appointed as general chairman to handle the various events being planned plan-ned for the Fourth of July celebration cele-bration in Cedar City. A full day's activities has been planned starting with a parade beginning at 9 a. m. The parade is under the direction of the Lady Lions, headed by Mrs. Ina Glvan. Prizes will be awarded for winning win-ning floats In each division. Immediately following the parade, par-ade, a patriotic meeting will be held in the City park under the sponsorship of the American Legion Le-gion Auxiliary headed by Mrs. Ellen Bulloch. During the day, sports events and races will be held In the park for the children, under the direction of LaVell Chamberlain. Swimming races will be held at the city pool with "Red" Osborne in charge. A baseball game for the afternoon af-ternoon is being arranged by Bill Hasfurther. A kids' dance Is being planned for the afternoon, sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary, either in the open air pavilion on Center street or in the first ward recreation hall, depending on the weather. Another dance is being planned for the evening. It was hoped to have a fireworks fire-works display, but because of the expense involved, none will be shown this year. |
