Show Cedar High School Redmen Continue To Lead in District Basketball Race The Cedar City high school basketball team continues to lead the Dixie district race, after another round of play, and this week-end the Redmen will travel to Hurricane for a game with the Typhoons, and will be favored to retain their lead in the race for the district title. However, this will be one of the toughest games of the season and the Redmen must be in top strength to win. Other games this week, besides the Cedar-Hurricarfe battle, finds Valley playing at Kanab and Dixie at Enterprise. Friday night the Redmen took the measure of the Kanab Cowboys, Cow-boys, 44 to 36 in a rough and tumble battle at Kanab. Dixie stayed in second place and right on the heels of the Redmen by taking the measure of Hurricane by a score of 43 to 25. The game was played at St George. The Valley high Buffalos managed to reach Enterprise Friday night, the first time a team has been able to get into the town since the snow storms started. The Valley Val-ley team was not able to beat the Enterprise team, losing by a score of 44 to 34. It was the first victory of the season for Enterprise. Enter-prise. In the game at Kanab the Red-men Red-men climbed into a 19 to 12 half-time half-time lead after a close first quarter, quar-ter, and maintained a safe margin mar-gin through the third quarter. In the final canto the Cowboys staged stag-ed a rally that threatened to push them into the lead, but Coach Quill Allen's charges had what it took to pull into a safe TEAM STANDING Won Lost Pet. The Redmen scored scor-ed 16 field goals to 11 for Kanab, and had a chance to improve their victory margin in foul shots, but were able to connect for only 12 points in 32 tries. Kanab was not much better at the foul line, converting only 8 out of 19 tries.
