Show Plans Aie Outlined by Faculty Committee For BAC Founders' Day Celebration Maicb 8 Tentative plans for celebrating of Founders' Day at the Branch Agricultural college have been outlined by a faculty committee commit-tee in charge of the event. The founding of the college will be commemorated on Thursday, Mar. 8, according to word from the school. The actual founding of the college was March 11, 1897, but the anniversary will be celebrated celebrat-ed oh Thursday to permit student stu-dent particpation. If the cele- bration were staged on Sunday, the anniversary of the founding, found-ing, many of the students would be home for the week end and would not find it possible to participate. A graphic and dramatic enter-pretation enter-pretation of the school's history, has been planned. The past, present and prospect for future development will be portrayed at an assembly to be held during dur-ing the afternoon. Prof. Parley Dalley, head of the physical science department at the college, will introduce surviving founders to students and patrons, and will review the early history of the institution. institu-tion. Prof. Dalley was one of the first students of the school. and has been associated with the institution as an instructor for the past 43 years. |
