Hurricane and Enterprise won opening games as expected, to stay definitely in the race. Dixie defeated Cedar by a score of 28 to 22 in a game that found all of the Redmen, except Sherm Lamb, a way off in their shooting, and also at times found them rather rath-er "dead on their feet". The Red-men, Red-men, although off on their shooting, shoot-ing, can blame only one thing for their defeat-they let the Dixie players beat them to the ball. While the Cedar players were waiting for the ball to come to them, the Dixie players were going out and getting it, and therein lies the tale of winning win-ning and losing the game. Cedar took a 4 to 3 lead In the first period, but early In the second se-cond quarter Dixie went Into a 5 ! to 4 lead and were never headed thereafter, although Cedar tied the score on three occasions, 9-9 and 16-16 in the third period and 18-18 In the final quarter. The game was exceedingly close throughout, with the visitors rallying in the last few minutes of play to gain their six point margin. The defensive work of Frle at guard and the ball rustling rust-ling of Watson at forward were tho greatest contributing factors in the Dixie win. Cedar was wlhout the services of L. C Miles, a first string guard, because of Illness, and substitute forward Pete Nelson who was declared de-clared ineligible. In the other games In the Division Divi-sion Hurricane trimmed KanaTT by a score of 38 to 21, and Enterprise trounced Valley 48 to 14, Friday night, Saturday night Kanab broke Into the win column, defeating Parowan Par-owan 37 to 31 In a game played at Kanab, and Dixie, using second stringers much of the time defeated Valley 37 to 18. The Cedar team plays two games this week end, meeting Enterprise in the Cedar gym Friday night and playing at Parowan Saturday night. Hurricane plays at Orderville and Kanab at Dixie In Friday nignt tilts and Saturday night Dixie plays at Hurricane. The Dixie games with Kanab and Hurricane hold the greatest interest of the week, ail-though ail-though the Cedar-Enterprise game is very Important, since it will determine de-termine which of these teams will be the biggest threat to Hurricane and Dixie.
