Show RATIONS FOR MEMBERS OF THE ARMED FORCES Members of the Armed Forces going on furlough Or official leave for more than 73 hours and who plan to et at least one mtal at l-rlvate- place of residence or menv bers of the armed forces not on leave or furlough who eat at least nine meals a month at a private residence are entitled to special tation certificates for food, either to be consumed directly or to be used to replace rations provided them as guests. Furthermore, it is no longer necessary neces-sary for soldiers, sailors and marines and coastguardsmen to spend part of their leave seeking a ration board to obtain special food allotments. al-lotments. The ground work is all done before he leaves his camp, post, ship or station. The procedure Is as follows: (1) The service man (or woman) makes out an application for extra off-the-base rations at the time he applies for his furlough or pass. The period for which service men's special ration allowance are computed com-puted in three days, covering nine meals. (2) While on leave he will generally gen-erally take his meals either at home with his family, or with relatives, or friends. The application for extra rations Is taken either by the service man cr the householder to the rationing board serving the area in which the householder lives, where special certificates are Issued for food consumed day by day. On the other hand, the home owner may wait till the expiration of the furlough or leave, (in fact, he has 15 days thereafter to go before the rationing boar d) and obtain special spec-ial certificates to replace what was usd- ..... .
