Show Pioneer Day Very Quietly Observed Pioneer Day was very quietly but appropriately celebrated In Cedar City, with tribute paid to the pio. noers of the city and the state. The pioneers were honored at a meeting in the First Ward Chapel during the forenoon, and were the guests of the city at one of the theatres during the afternoon. George at the City ball park, with the visitors winning the game. A dance in the evening completed the day's activities. A misunderstanding between the city and church result in plans for the celebration being delayed until un-til onlyi two days before Pioneer Day, and as a result the functions were not as well attended as they would have been had they been better publicized. |
