Show Lunt Reports On ! State School Finance Situation i Wilson N Lunt. member of the Inn County Board of Education, and member of the txmttive committee com-mittee of the State School Board Association, reported at the meeting meet-ing of the Iron County Beard Mon., that his committee had done everything every-thing possible to overcome the loss of funds for sthcol purposes caused by the' recent action of Governor ! Herbert B. Maw. 1 Mr. Lunt attended a meeting of I the Executive Committr in Salt Lake City lat week, at which time the group met with the Governor to attempt to work out a solution to the school financing problem. It was the result of action by this group that the funds were originally original-ly provided by the legislature. Mr. Lunt pointed out that the legislative bills providing additional addi-tional school funds would have provided pro-vided $19,375 for Iron county during dur-ing the coming year, but this will be reduced by the action of the Governor. The total amount appropriate ap-propriate to schools was $4,600,000, but this will be reduced by $600,000. |
