Show Carrot Production Activities Started Farmers ol Iron County who recently re-cently have affiliated themselves with the Utah Celery Cooperative Asvsociatiion, are busy this wecic planting carrots to be harvested Mid marketed during the summer and fall as fresh bunched carrots, and shipped to metropolitan markets throughout the nation. F. M. Corry. L. E. Davis and Fred Perry have Just completed planting their carrots and the following men will finish planting during the latter lat-ter pait of the week: J. M. Palmer, John Sherratt. Orson Bryant Glon-don Glon-don Llston. Isamu Yumori and Be:i Yumorl, both of Beryl, will also' plant their carrots this week. j ' Mr. A. W. Bromley of American fork, representing the association, is new in Cedar City and is In J charge of the large cooperative potato po-tato pit located Just north of the Union Pacific Depot. He is systa-matically systa-matically cleaning up the pit and ! arranging fcr space in which to l store the crates that will be made up beginning this week. Mr. Bromley Brom-ley brought Lowe Howard with him who will assist Mr. Ray D. Lytic, of Stockton, California, who has crate making machinery and will make up approximately 60,000 crates for carrot growers here this year. This box making pro'ect wll require re-quire about two months time, with thlls machinery and a crew of five men. |
