If the veteran diligently seeks employment after he Is released, but is unable to secure it, he lg en-titled en-titled to unemployment compensation compensa-tion at a flat rate of $20 per week for a maximum period of twenty six weeks. I All v.terans upon discharge are entitled to one school year of education ed-ucation in an institution of their own choice, either In scholastic Institutions, In-stitutions, both public and private, church schools, vocational or ap-pientlcrship ap-pientlcrship schools. The veteran's tuition will be paid by the government govern-ment to the extent of the regular tuition fea of the Institution but Is not to exceed $500 per year. In addition ad-dition thereto, If veteran Is single, h receives $50 a month and If married, mar-ried, $75 a month for living and Incidental In-cidental expenses while attend.ng school. If the veteran can prove that his education was retarded ot Interrupted because of the war, he Is entitled to the same benefits as before mentioned for an additional three year period. There Is, however, how-ever, a limitation to this provision which stipulates that the veteran fihall not have been morj than twenty-four years of age at the time of 1 his entrance Into military service. ! Other provisions In th's legLsla- tlon make it possible for the veteran vet-eran to borrow money not In ex cess of $1500 for thj purchase of a farm or a home or a business, the government giving a 50 per cent guarantee of the loan. It is assumed assum-ed that th's loan would be used for th? purpose of making a down payment pay-ment on the home, farm or business, busi-ness, but this does not In any wa limit the anlount the veteran may pay for his farm, home, or business This bill has been carefully studied and been the subject of very critical debate.
