He writes of it with a high natural ability and a long experience during which he has turned out many novels, nov-els, novelettes, short stories and serials. se-rials. This one visualizes most happily, hap-pily, in a setting of adventure, the virile types of the great plains. All of them, good and bad, are there. His hero and heroine meet under unusual circumstances, for the former for-mer has a rope around his neck and is about to be lynched. She saves him. He is no better than he should be, but he rapidly improves; eventually eventu-ally you grow to love Curly Flandrau just as Kate did. We shall not spoil the story for you by revealing more.
