Show Chronometer Exceeds Its Previous Record, Varying Six-Hundredths of Second. Showing a dully variation of but six one-hutidredths of a second, says the Philadelphia Record, a chronometer entered In the competition at the Oen- i evn conservatory exceeded the former j record mode In the year 1891 by one- J hundredth of a second. One hundred nnd sixteen chronometers were entered In the 1018 contest, ngnlnst 182 In 1917 and 100 In 1016. Of these 116 entries, five were murine chronometers and 111 pocket chronometers or watches, two of the latter being complicated pieces. Professor Raoul Oautler, of the Industrial In-dustrial Arts society, writes Consul Lewis W. Mussel from Geneva, In reading read-ing a report on the competition, gives some Interesting details on the tests which are made to determine the accuracy ac-curacy of the timepieces.
