Show APPRECIATION FOR MARGERY STEVENS Presiding Kldcr Over Mission Given Insight Into Girl's Life and Labors While on Duty. Denver, Colo Nov 14th, 1918. Mr. C. F. Stevens. Enoch, Utah Dear Brother and family: As told you when you were in I Denver, I would write you. I take this opportunity to do so. Words fail me when trying to ex-, ex-, press to you my heartfelt sympathy j in your hour of trial and sorrow. 1 'know too that whut I may tell you about her would not be news to you who were blessed with such a ilaugh-; ilaugh-; ter and sister such as she was. i mJ l.. liu.nl, ..l tiwU i WJta JM-MU ileged to know her and enjoy her as. sociation for the few months I have known her since she came into the mission field for she was one whom I was proud to have call me her brother. bro-ther. I was not fortunate enough to have the privilege of working with her but very little, but we corresponded cor-responded all the time she was away from Denver and I learned to think very much of her. She was to my mind, an ideal girl in every way and no one could go wrone; in following her example or advice. It is needless for me to say that her missionary work was foremost in her mind at all times and that she was a feurless defender of the gospel always. al-ways. I am positive she never wilfully wil-fully broke a mission rule while here and Jier work is proof that eh had it always at heart. I have sisters at home and I could wish them no greater blessing than to wish they were like Margery for I don't think a better girl ever lived than she. I learned to think more of her than any girl I ever knew and I had every confidence in her. Her death came as a great shock to us and we mourn her departure as only the best of friends could. We needed her here, but God in His infinite infin-ite wisdom saw fit to call her to the other side because He had a great er work for her to do over there and I firmly believe she is continuing the great work there that she had so well begun here. I jret much comfort com-fort in the thought that we will have the pleasure of seeing her and as soriating with her in that hotter world, provided we live good enough 'to merit such a blessing . 1 almost envy those who had the privilege of knowing her better than I did, but thank Cod that I knew her as well as I did, for I have gained much from her, both in her example and bar letters Please believe me when I say that you have my sincere sympathy in your sorrow, and that I would be glad to hear from you some time. I am very truly yours, Elder J. A. MARLEY, HI Last 7th Ave, Denver, Colo. |
