J Nono of tho employees is expected to contribute any portion of this sum. which Is entirely at tho cxpousa of tho various companies interested. It Is stated tlmt the application of these varied benefits will bo strictly democratic, demo-cratic, for the benefit of employees of every rank, providing for frco change of employment from ono company to another, with full credit for combined terms of service. Tho total yearly pay for this army of employees amounts to $115,000,000. more than $80,000,000 being paid out in wages by the Boll telephone system alone. It Is provided that male employees who have reached the age of slsty years and who have been twenty years or more In service may retire on pensions, pen-sions, although they may be retired at the option of tho company when they nre fifty-five years old nnd have been twenty-five yenrs or more In tho service. The pension ago of women is In each case flvo years younger thnn that of men. The amount of the pension Is based automatically on years .of service and amount of pay nnd will be 1 per cent of the nvernge annual pay for ten years, multiplied by the number of years of service. In this manno.r n man who had been thirty years In tho employ of any of the companies would get 30 per cent of, the nvorngo salary which lie had been receiving during his last ten years of service. No pension pen-sion Is to be less than $20 a month. In the case of accidents due to the performance of work for tho company the employee Is to receive for total disability full pay for thirteen weeks and half pay for the remaining period of disability up to six years. Employees Em-ployees who are disabled by illness or accident outside of regular duty after being in service for ton years or raoro ore to receive full pay for thlrtc- u weeks and- half pay for thirty-nine weeks. If n'ny state statntcs provide for more liberal compensation than is given by the benefit scheme the statutory statu-tory provisipn will prevail.
