Tho caso waB that of Van Lear and Robertson Tumor, sons of Frank V. L. Turnor of Morchantvillo. During tho unseasonable woathor last fall, tho boys, who aro ten and thirteen yet.rs old, respectively, woro sent to school without collars and with tho neckbands neck-bands of tholr shirtwaists turned under. un-der. Tho teachor, Miss Sarah Rogers, Rog-ers, promptly sent thom homo. Their mothor refused to chango tholr at-tiro at-tiro for sovoral days, during which t.mo they woro denied admission to tho school, although thoy reported each morning. Turnor appealed to tho Morchantvillo Morchant-villo school board and then to tho stato school commissioner, both of whom uphold tho teacher's action. In reversing thom tho stato board holds that tho teacher's mandato was an unreasonable and unwarranted oxer-clso oxer-clso of power. |
