Show H CEDAR'S HG MUSICAL WEEK m Hn HE big Musical Festival Week that has been H arranged for next week, will come n a fitting m culmination of the summer's work in music which H has been given in Cedar City, and which has done H so much to awaken an interest in this cultured m art in the southern portion of the state, which will B have an influence upon the future social condition. H It this connection a great deal of credit we B might say the major portion of the credit is due m to Mr Fred Craham, the director of the school, and the originator of the idea of a summer school I of music for the south. Mr. Graham. Lesides be- B ing a musician of unusual ability himself, is a B shrewd business man who has the faculty of or- H ganizing his forces and "putting over" and sort m of an undertaking with which he associates him- H self. He is a pusher, and fully realizes the power H . of publicity in the achievement of success. H We are glad to learn that the School of Music is B. to be continued next year, and that there is a pros- P pect of its becoming a permanent institution in m this section. Mr. Gragam and associates are well H pleased with the support they have received here H the present season, and feels that it is a good H place to summer, hence their decision to be with H us again next year. H On page four of this number of The Record will H be found an interesting write-up of the School, B which is well worth perusing, and on the oppo- H site page page five will be a number of impor- B tant trading announcements for the week by lo- H cul business men, which will ha ::n unusual in- H terest for the public generally and particularly H visitors from the outside towns. H We wish to predict that the Music School next m summer will be a bigger success than the term H which is just drawing to a close, and v desire to H extend a cordial Invitation to our visiting friends H from the north to return to us next summer, and I often in the future. |
