Show A Word to The Public. Among the many good things which the people of Cedar City have the opportunity of enjoying thero is not one of greater importance im-portance than the privilege of attending the Free Public Gymnasium. Gym-nasium. However, up to the present date the privilege has been seriously neglected and the attendance has been small. We do not know just what to attribute attri-bute this lack of interest to, but hope it is due to the people not knowing of this work, and no to any indifference toward it. To like or even appreciate anything we must work with it, and in working with it if our efforts bring us satisfaction we soon grow to like that with which we are working, and class it as a necessity This fact will hold good in respect to the Gymnasium. Gym-nasium. We believe there is no person who does not believe that Gymnastics will benefit him. Now if you will only come and see what we are doing, we are sure you will become interested in our work and soon join us. It is not the Gymnasium's purpose to develop gymnasts, but to bring about better physical physi-cal conditions among the people. Don't think because you are seemingly awkward that you are outofaceintheGyinnaainmjj ?aVpeeWther'J 'VSi velopmenb. The people in tws' neighborhood are well-developed in some respects but very lacking in others. Many of their muscles remain almost functionless. We shall endeavor to bring these muscles into play and consequently consequent-ly bring about better results to the human organism. The work we give is absolutely absolute-ly free, the only requirement being shoes but suits are preferred pre-ferred for both girls and boys, and especially for girls. The Gym is opened four nights every week promptly at 7:30 and remains re-mains open until 9 p. m. Two nights, Monday and Wednesday, are given to the girls over lb years of age and two nights, Tuesday and Thursday, are for the boys over sixteen. I should be glad to work with any or all of you and believe that I can make the work pleasant and beneficial to all if you will only come regularly and promptly. FRANCIS DALTON, Director. |
